Review of 2010

Time to review how my 2010 went:

*Bigger garden:  The garden did get a couple of feet bigger, but not near as big as I had wanted.  I'll have to try again this year for another couple of feet.
*Bigger flower bed:  This one I accomplished after a lot of hard work.  Some day I'd like it larger still, but for now, it's good.
*Tracking money:  Didn't do so well on this one.  I have all of the information, but it's not organized at all and doesn't do me any good.
*Workouts:  I did great on this one.  I work out almost every day after work.  Not much weight loss to show from it, but I'm happy that I've stuck with it.
*Remove wallpaper:  I got 1 out of 3 of the rooms done.  The main bath was the room I did, and after spending 30+ hours removing paper, I just couldn't get motivated to do any more.
*Finish sewing room:  I'm very happy with this room.  I got the storage cabinets up and some decor on the walls.  It's a bright, cheery place to sew.
*Work on sewing projects:  I finished Lisa's quilt and also made a wallhanging for the sewing room that I wasn't planning on.

I'm happy with what I got done, but there's always room to do more.  I don't have my 2011 list finished yet but hope to post in a couple days.

Happy New Year!

Knitted Hats

I got a knitting loom for Christmas, and I finished my first project today. I started out with a small hat just to see how it would go. This could be quite addicting.
I've already started hat #2.  They are quite easy so I'll have to see if I can find some more advanced patterns online...and make another trip to the store for more yarn in more colors.

My Sister and Her Many Looks

As I was looking through my Christmas photos, I found several of my sister. The first one is one of several self-portraits we were taking. The rest of them she is just being silly!

Thanks for the Christmas memories.

Christmas Cookies

They're finally finished.  This is one of many things Mom and I accomplished today.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The presents are wrapped and under the tree.  There is finally snow on the ground and there's more to come this week.  Today I had two holiday outings...work lunch and friend dinner.  They were both delicious, but they could have been spread out over more than one day.

Over the weekend I attended a Christmas program at the church of a friend of mine.  The kids did great.  It's always fun to watch the little ones.

I can't wait for the long weekend.  I've started my list of things to take along so I don't forget anything.  I even have a few things in the suitcase already!

Holiday Happenings

I've been busy with a lot of different things in the past few days.  Last Sunday Lisa and I went to Mike's for our annual Christmas candy making day.  Since then I've baked the cookies that I had actually mixed up several days ago, made chocolate covered cherries and fudge.  I needed a good supply for potluck at work tomorrow.
A few days ago I was off from work while I got a new furnace.  That was a good day to accomplish something.  I got my wallhanging basted.....slowly but surely I'm one step closer to actually getting started on the quilting part.  I've been working on a knitting project and started a puzzle.  I guess I don't want to get too bored with just one thing!!

.....and I'm still waiting for the first snow!

Christmas Decorating

I was busy putting up my Christmas decorations last week.  I had to find a new spot for the tree this year as the couch is now in front of the window, and I really wasn't in the mood to move it.  Sorry the picture is a bit dark.  I can't seem to get a decent one with or without flash.
I've been baking too. Last night I made peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate. They are fabulous!! Tonight I'm mixing up the cookie dough so it can chill overnight, and I can bake on my day off. I need to get the dough mixed up for chocolate covered cherries so it can chill too. I love this time of year!

I'm still waiting for the first snow.
