Baby Boy Quilt

A few weeks ago I whipped up a baby boy quilt for a friend at work. I had the top done in plenty of time, but then I found out her baby shower was going to be before the baby was born so I needed to really get moving.

I stuck with my usual pattern. It's quick and easy. I used flannel this time since I'd found this cute fabric.

Put it on the frame and tied it... 

...and bound it.

After the baby is born, I told her I'd put his name on it.

Much better weather this year!

Spring Flower Cleanup

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been busy cleaning out the flower gardens.

A few yellow crocus were blooming.

I sure hope the roses perk up. They're not showing any signs of growth yet.

I got all the weeds pulled and some Preen put down. 

And then I got the fence back up to keep the rabbits out.

This garden needs a lot of weeding and thinning out, but I'm waiting for things to get bigger before I start digging.

And then the snow came two days later!

And today the daffodils are finally blooming. The tulips won't be far behind.

We've had a very cold winter here in Iowa. With the frost depth between 2 and 3 feet, I think it'll be a while before my flowers look like they did the past couple of years at this time.
